Webinar Replay: Create an Annual Plan For Your Fitness Business
TL;DR

Do you have a business plan? Do you know what your business priorities are for next year? How about next quarter? Next month?

Creating a business plan is one of the most important things you can do for your business.

Without a plan, you are leaving the success of your business up to chance. Often times, creating a plan for the entire year can be daunting. You might find yourself staring at a blank piece of paper or document, with no idea how to start. What you need is a strategy to simplify the process. In this week's webinar, we've invited Eric LeClair to share his strategy for developing an annual business plan. If you know Eric, he has a very strategic approach to everything. From his service as a veteran, to building and selling a successful fitness business, to (newly) becoming a father (congrats!), he always arms himself with a plan.Eric has put together a plan that allows you to bucket items into different aspects of your business. Follow the steps below and watch the webinar replay.

  1. Open the linked file in Google Sheets (bit.ly/pp-annual-plan)
  2. The file is READ ONLY. Go to File > Make a Copy and create the copy in your drive.
  3. Watch the replay and TAKE NOTES!

Some tips to help you understand the spreadsheet:

  • Zoom out to view the entire calendar for the year. This will give you a better picture of the scope of an annual plan. (the dates listed in the sheet are accurate for 2020)
  • The first quarter of the year are pre-filled with sample data of how a plan for the quarter might look. When you work through this for your business, delete those placeholders and add your own.
  • Just because there are slots on the calendar for every week, in every section, it does not mean that it needs to be filled. What is important is understanding what your business needs, and what you and your team can accomplish.
  • This spreadsheet is not exhaustive. There might be things local to your business or community that work really well, but might not be in this document. Use this document as a template and be as creative as you can to include your community in your annual planning.
  • DON'T SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF. It is easy to be overwhelmed at planning every detail of your annual plan. That isn't the purpose here. The purpose is to give your business a roadmap to follow for the next year. If you learn of a new skill or strategy, then pivot and adapt the plan. What is important is to have a plan.

We'll dive deeper into many of these topics in future webinars next year. Good luck! 2020 is shaping up to be a massive year for the fitness industry, and we all have the power to influence the health and fitness of our local communities. We can't wait!
