Kaylee Suitors opened CrossFit Solus in Texas 13 years before this story was written, back when PushPress did not exist. She spent the eight years that followed cycling through gym software platforms and finding something wrong with every one of them.

Four years before this story she found PushPress Grow and moved the gym over for good. That is the point the business turned.

Since then she has rebuilt from a COVID low of 75 members to more than 140, on the back of a $499 a month intro package.

The Problem

Eight years of switching software

Suitors bounced between platforms for eight years. Each one frustrated her in a different way and none of them stuck.

Support that took days

Her previous CRM was the sharpest version of the problem. She would send a question and wait, sometimes up to three days, for an answer. In a gym, a three-day wait on a lead question costs money.

COVID cut the membership to 75

When 2020 hit, the membership base dwindled to 75 and Suitors was in trouble. Rebuilding meant two jobs at once: finding new leads, and giving the members she still had enough value to stay at $199 a month.

The Solution

Every lead lands in one place

A new lead enters PushPress Grow, the CRM and lead gen add-on to Core, the moment they contact the gym. Everything after that points at one call to action: book a call.

The consult sells the whole package, not a class pass

Suitors meets every lead in person, one on one. The offer is unlimited group classes, weekly personal training for the first three months, and nutrition coaching with regular body composition scans on the gym InBody machine. It runs $499 a month for three months, then steps down to $199 a month with personal training once a month.

"That's the best thing for them, and it's also going to be the best revenue for our gym."

Onboarding runs itself for the first three months

Early messages cover the basics of using the gym, down to how to find the day's workout. Later ones move into nutrition tips, a habit of the week, and mindset videos Suitors records herself.

"It's all about integration into the gym."

The same content keeps long-term members engaged, not just new ones, and it gives newer members an obvious moment to ask a question.

Automated does not mean impersonal

Through Grow, members reach their own coach directly.

"It's very personal. They can text (their coach) anytime they need help."

On the coach side it is all in one place, which makes staying in contact a habit rather than a chore.

Tagged lists for camps and competitions

Suitors runs programs and events off the same contact list. A teen camp went out to more than 500 current and former members in one click. Tags let her split that list and send competition details only to the people who compete.

Result

More than 140 clients

Up from the COVID low of 75.

Higher average client value and retention

The $499 intro raises what a new member is worth across their first quarter, and the ongoing content keeps people around once it ends.

Competitions that sell out

"Our competition fills in less than a week."

Members who notice the difference

"People that have moved here that have been at other CrossFit gyms, they say, 'Wow, we get so much at this gym compared to where we have been before.'"

Conclusion

Suitors knows there are other platforms out there. She recommends this one on the strength of the support behind it, which mattered most in the early days when she was still learning the system.

"I don't know how any gym owner manages their business without PushPress Grow."
