Set up 1-on-1 appointments, semi-private time slots, or small group sessions with capacity caps — all from a single calendar. Whether you run a 4-person semi-private block or a packed 12-person group, PushPress handles the logistics so you can focus on coaching.

Billing and payments on autopilot

Deliver programming that keeps clients coming back

Create and deliver tailored workouts for individual clients or entire small groups. Push programming directly to your clients’ phones, track their progress over time, and build programs that scale from 1-on-1 to semi-private without recreating everything from scratch.

Fill your schedule with the right clients

PushPress Grow captures leads with an SEO-optimized website, nurtures them with automated follow-up workflows, and converts them into paying training clients. Whether someone is searching for a personal trainer near them or a small group fitness program, your PushPress-powered site does the selling while you do the coaching.

See what’s working (and what’s not) at a glance

Track revenue per session type, client retention rates, attendance trends, and trainer utilization — all from one dashboard. Know exactly which training model (1-on-1, semi-private, or small group) is driving the most revenue, so you can make decisions based on data instead of gut feeling.

What's the best software for running a personal training business?

PushPress is personal training business software for gyms and studios with a floor to fill and coaches to pay. It runs scheduling, billing, programming, and client records in one system: 1-on-1 appointments, small group sessions, session packages, and recurring memberships on a single calendar and a single invoice. Most training businesses don't outgrow their software, they outgrow the stack. A booking app, a payment processor, a spreadsheet for trainer pay, and a group chat holding it together. That's what PushPress replaces.

Is PushPress a good fit for my training business?

PushPress is built for training businesses with a physical location. If you run a studio or gym doing 1-on-1, semi-private, and small group out of your own space, with staff on the schedule and members on recurring plans, that's exactly who we build for. If you're a solo trainer renting floor time at someone else's gym, or coaching fully online with no facility, PushPress is more system than you need and we'd rather say that now than on a demo call.

Can PushPress handle 1-on-1 training and small group sessions in the same system?

Yes. PushPress runs both from one calendar. Set up 1-on-1 appointments, semi-private slots, and small group sessions with capacity caps side by side, with no second tool and no separate login. If you also run open group classes, those live on the same schedule, so a client booking a Tuesday small group and a Thursday private session sees one schedule and gets one bill.

Can I run semi-private sessions where clients share a time slot but pay different rates?

Yes. In PushPress, the session and the price are separate things. Clients book into the same semi-private slot, but each one is on their own plan: a monthly membership, a session package, or a hybrid plan that bundles appointment credits with a recurring membership on one invoice. Two clients in the same 6am slot can be paying two different rates, and neither of them ever sees the other's.

Can clients book their own sessions?

Yes. Clients self-book from the branded member app or from a booking page you can link straight off your website. Availability comes from each coach's own working hours, so clients only ever see slots that coach can actually take. Confirmations, reminders, and no-show follow-ups fire automatically through PushPress Grow, which is where most of the "she forgot again" problem goes away.

How does PushPress stop double-bookings and billing mistakes?

Scheduling and billing sit in the same database, so they can't drift apart. Coach availability is set per person, so a slot can only be booked once. Session credits are decremented on check-in, not on booking, so a no-show doesn't silently eat a client's pack. Failed cards are retried automatically and flagged in one place instead of showing up as a revenue hole at month end.

Can I sell session packs and packages instead of only monthly memberships?

Yes. PushPress supports appointment packages (a bundle of session credits a client buys up front), recurring memberships, and hybrid plans that combine both on a single monthly invoice. Credits sit on the client's profile and draw down as sessions get checked in. For gyms moving clients off 10-packs and onto recurring, you can run both models at once during the transition.

Can I set up recurring sessions so my staff aren't rebooking the same clients every week?

Yes. Recurring Appointments let staff book a repeating series once (day, time, coach, cadence) and it stays on the calendar until someone changes it. No credits needed up front, and a series can use different times on different days for coaches whose Tuesday and Thursday availability don't match. Bill Cunningham, who runs a small group PT gym with a team of two, was spending 45 to 60 minutes a day booking clients by hand before he moved it into PushPress.

Does it track what to pay my coaches?

Yes. Each appointment type carries a pay rate, either a flat rate per session or a percentage of the session price, and pay calculates automatically when the coach checks the client in. You pull it from Reports, then Payroll, at the end of the pay period. If you're running a team, this is usually the spreadsheet that disappears first.

Can I deliver programming to clients and track their progress?

Yes. Build individual programs or shared small-group programming, push it to your clients' phones, and see what they actually completed. Programming, attendance, and billing all sit on the same client profile. So when a client asks what's changed since March, or a coach picks up someone else's client for a week, the history is right there instead of in someone's notebook.

How much does personal training software cost?

PushPress Core starts at $0, with unlimited members, leads, staff, and admins on every plan including the free one. Being straight with you: the Appointments system you need for 1-on-1 and semi-private booking sits on Core Pro ($159/month) and Core Max ($229/month), not the free tier. Both come with a 7-day free trial and no setup fee. Processing runs 2.89% + $0.30 on Pro and 2.75% + $0.30 on Max. Add-ons are priced separately: Train at $79/month for unlimited clients, a branded member app at $97/month, and Grow at $329/month plus a one-time setup fee.

Do I need to install anything, and does it work on a Mac?

No install. PushPress is web-based, so it runs in any browser on Mac, Windows, or the tablet at your front desk. Your coaches get a staff app to book and check people in from the floor mid-session, and clients get a member app for booking, programming, and payments. Nobody has to walk back to the office computer to start a session.

Can I run online clients alongside my in-person roster?

Yes, as long as the gym floor is still the main event. PushPress is built for training businesses with a physical location, so if you're keeping a few clients who moved away or selling remote programming between sessions, they sit on the same member app, the same programming, and the same billing as everyone else. If your business is fully online with no facility, PushPress isn't the right tool.

Can PushPress help me fill open slots on my schedule?

That's what PushPress Grow does. It captures leads through an SEO-optimized site, follows up automatically until they book an intro, and asks happy clients for Google reviews so the next lead finds you. Then it hands the booked client straight into Core, so nothing gets retyped.

What reporting do I get on my training business?

Revenue by session type, client retention, attendance trends, and coach utilization, all in one dashboard. Once you're past about 100 sessions a month you stop being able to feel which parts of the business are working. This is where you find out that your 6am semi-private is carrying the schedule and your Thursday afternoon 1-on-1 block is costing you money.
