PushPressvs Mindbody
Mindbody is a big platform with a big marketplace behind it. PushPress is built for owner-run gyms and studios that want every price published, a member app on every plan, and no minimum term. Ours starts at $0.

The 60-second answer
Two honest paths. Find yours and skip the rest of the page.
If any of these sound like your gym or studio
If any of these sound like your business
"There are tons of software out there, and they can all pretty much do billing and management. The most important thing is that one-on-one help... the people who make PushPress what it is."
How do I switch from Mindbody to PushPress?
About two weeks on Core, and about a month with Grow. The two dates that matter are your Mindbody renewal date and the day you want to start billing.
Payment migration goes in first
Stored cards move processor to processor, and this step depends on Mindbody's side, not ours. So we file the request on day one and you ask Mindbody to release your cards.
Set up plans, packs and classes
Memberships, class packs, intro offers, the schedule and instructor accounts. You build your own plans rather than picking from a fixed set, so your pricing and policies match how you actually run things.
Your clients move over
You export from Mindbody before your site deactivates, and we import. Clients, memberships and attendance go through the 3-step tool, and you get a named onboarding lead, not a ticket queue.
Clients download the app
One announcement, one link. Bookings, packs and payment schedules carry over, so nobody loses their spot in Saturday's 9am.
What carries over, and what doesn't

Is PushPress cheaper than Mindbody?
Mindbody publishes one price, $79 a month for Starter. Accelerate, Ultimate and their processing rates are quoted on a call.
Here is everything both companies publish, side by side.
2.89% + $0.30 on Pro
2.75% + $0.30 on Max
Your rate "is based on the Mindbody plan you select"
Quoted on a sales call
If you pass a fee to your members, you keep it
Plenty of gyms and studios pass some or all of their card cost on to members. On PushPress you set that number yourself, up to 10%, and every cent of it comes back to you. Put it toward new mats, props, or just the cost of running payments.
Worth asking any platform you are evaluating the same question: if I pass a fee to my members, who actually keeps it?
How Flex Fees worksHow we compare: key differences
| PushPress | Mindbody | |
|---|---|---|
| Pricing you can see | Three plans, card and ACH rates, and every add-on, all published | One price published: Starter from $79/mo per location. Two tiers, add-ons and processing rates by quote |
| Payment data portability | Card tokens leave with you | Stored cards aren't on Mindbody's published export list |
| Contract terms | Month to month, no minimum term | 90-day minimum on month-to-month plans, or fixed 12, 24 or 36-month terms with no mid-term cancellation |
| Free tier | Core Free, no time limit | None. Starter from $79/mo per location |
| Member app | Included on every plan. Shows your business and nobody else's | The Mindbody app is a shared marketplace. A branded app is an add-on on Accelerate and Ultimate, and isn't offered on Starter |
| Class reminders | Push reminders before class, in the member app on every plan | Booking confirmations and reminders by email and text on Accelerate and up |
| Card processing | 2.75% to 4.99% + $0.30 by plan | Not published. Rate "is based on the Mindbody plan you select" |
| ACH processing | 0.79% + $0.30 on Pro and Max | Supported, rate not published |
| Class packs, memberships and intro offers | Packs that deduct at check-in, limited-visit plans, unlimited memberships and intro offers, all built by you | Supported |
| Marketing and CRM | Grow, $329/mo add-on | Ultimate tier only, price not published |
| Spot and equipment booking | Classes cap by headcount, so a 10-reformer room books 10. Clients don't pick a specific machine | Pick-a-Spot and room and resource booking on Accelerate and up. Mindbody wins this if clients choose their own machine. |
| ClassPass | No connection | Same parent company, and the two connect. Mindbody wins this. |
| Staff pay and scheduling | Coach pay per class, session or head, calculated from attendance. No clock-in for hourly staff | Staff scheduling, performance reviews and payroll tools. Stronger for large hourly teams. |
| Franchise and enterprise | Built for independent owners, not franchise systems | Custom enterprise plans for multi-location and franchise brands. Mindbody wins this. |
| G2 rating | 4.8 out of 5 | 3.8 out of 5 |

So which one should you actually pick?
If you've read this far, you already know we're not a neutral party. So here's the version we'd give you on the phone.
Mindbody is a big, capable platform. If ClassPass fills your classes, if clients pick a specific reformer or bike, or if new people find you through the Mindbody app, those are real reasons to stay, and we can't replace them. Franchise brands and businesses with a large hourly staff usually find more depth there too.
We win with the owner who wants to see the price before the demo. The yoga or Pilates studio, reformer or mat, the CrossFit or functional gym, the boxing or martial arts academy that runs on memberships and class packs, wants its clients in its own app, and doesn't want to sign for a year to find out whether the software works.

Is PushPress good for yoga and Pilates studios?
Yes, reformer studios included: memberships, limited-visit plans, class packs that deduct at check-in, automatic waitlists, late-cancel and no-show fees, and instructor pay by class or by head. Classes cap by headcount, so a 10-reformer room books 10. What we don't do is let clients pick a specific reformer or spot. If your clients expect that, Mindbody's Pick-a-Spot does it.
