Your favorite burrito. Until you have to eat it every day for the rest of your life.[/caption]It's been a minute since I've written on this topic, but it's about to get a reboot. The fallacy of the concept of an "all in one" is almost as dead wrong as "squatting below parallel is dangerous". It's really a concept that's plain as day to us here. There's been past articles I've posted on this (here and here and here) - each with their own reasons proving our thesis that the "all in one" business platform is broken.Today we're going to talk about a matter that's part and parcel with living as a human in today's digital age: Choice and Freedom.Let's play a game. Pick your favorite breakfast restaurant. Imagine if you could only eat out there every time you went out to eat breakfast. While it might be your favorite breakfast spot, I bet the concept of that horrifies you.Now imagine if that breakfast spot decided to get into lunch, dinner, coffee and dessert, and you were only allowed to eat out there for every single meal. Ever.An all in one platform is just that. You've locked yourself into zero choices and zero freedom.

Case Study: Workout Tracking

Now, there's currently two schools of thought on workout tracking. One school prefers simple administration, less robust data tracking and maximal client usage and social effects. The other school of thinking is willing to sacrifice some administrative effort to have massively trackable and digestable data that is meaningful to coaches and clients.Whichever way you lean, the issue is this: One system cannot be both. And regardless of which way a workout tracking system leans, there's 100 other factors that might make one system more preferential to you than another (aesthetic, pricing, locale, support, etc). With an all in one, you take it or leave it with the product at hand. You have no choice. You're eating the same breakfast burritos every morning for the rest of your life.Further, some gyms don't want workout tracking. When you join an all in one you're not only paying for workout tracking in the price you're paying - but that extra level of product is diluting their attention and resources. You're absolutely paying for it in that respect too.

The PushPress Approach

We're over here focused on being the absolute best we can at what we do. For anything that falls outside of that we're eagerly for companies to rise up and fill those gaps with the same level of passion, focus and expertise that we are. As we find them, we will strike partnerships with them to create the best integrated suite of productsThis approach gives you options to choose from. Find the solution the reflects your needs best. If a better solution comes up out of nowhere, you have the option of changing to that system without materially affecting any other aspect of your business. You can isolate change in this manner, mitigating risk down the road.[caption id="attachment_2686" align="alignright" width="300"]

Where All-In-Ones Like You[/caption]

The "All In One" Mindset

All in one's are busy building as many features as they can for one reason and one reason only: They think it creates a bigger barrier for you to change. When you switch billing systems they want it to be so disruptive to your business, you're locked in. Locked in on fear of disruption, not locked in because the features are THAT great. We feel that's a disingenuous approach. Our goal is to help our clients succeed in this business, not lock them into something that might be hurting their business because it benefits us. This is why our core platform comes with a free 30 day trial and absolutely no contracts. Don't feel we're best for your business, we're here to help you move along to a system that is.
